The greatest landmark in the North Western United States it the Space needle which is a 605 foot tall building built for the 1962 World’s Fair. The Space needle is designed to withstand more than 200 mile per hour winds and also features the top floor being able to rotate. At 500 feet above the Seattle streets, the Sky City restaurant rotates 360 degrees giving its guests a 360 degree panoramic view of the Seattle skyline.
With an ascent of nearly 10 miles per hour, after waiting several hours to go up to the top of this building, the trip itself takes only 43 seconds to complete, but the view is nothing less than spectacular. For the last 17 million years, the Colorado River has been slowly but surely cutting its way through the majestic Grand Canyon and bringing it to the level that it is now. One of the world’s wonders, the Grand Canyon which is best seen from the Southern Rim in Arizona is over 277 miles in length, 18 miles in width and more than 1.5 miles in depth. For so long, the Colorado River has been carving its way through the desert and has exposed more than 2 billion years for the Earth’s history which can bee seen in the marvelous layers which are rich in color running all the way down the sides of the gorge.
Located in Keystone, South Dakota and sculpted by Gutzon Borglum; Mount Rushmore represents more than 150 years of American history featuring the busts of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt as well as Abraham Lincoln. At more than 5,700 feet tall, Mount Rushmore covers a total land are of just under 1,300 acres of the Black Hills region of South Dakota and attracts more than 2 million visitors every year.

The American Natural History Museum in Manhattan, New York City is the home to more than 32 million species of animals, but unfortunately even though the museum is fairly large, only a handful of the specimens can be displayed at any given time.

In Salt Lake City, Utah, one can find the grand Salt Lake Temple which is the largest places of worship built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With an overall height of 210 feet, this gothic inspired church covers a ground area of more than 4 acres. Built entirely out of granite, this large cathedral stands out amongst the other buildings in Salt Lake City.
Another popular attraction other than being the home of the 2002 Winter Games is their black-domed capital building. The only government building in the U.S. whose dome is black.
